Blaise is a painter & printmaker based in London.
His work is a sumptuous mix of texture & colour, employing a range of techniques and materials – working with collage & bespoke stencils, paint and ink, on paper and canvas. It draws on his wide experience of art disciplines from graphic design, through printmaking to painting. Blaise relishes the process of working to different scales from postage stamp to stage design, via packaging, and publishing. His love for type, symbols, maps & popular culture provide the bedrock of visual reference that informs his image making.
Born & raised in London, he worked for two years at design group Omnific before completing a BA in Painting at Sheffield Polytechnic. He then studied illustration at the Royal College of Art.
For twelve years Blaise was part of the Big Orange collective.
He has lectured in illustration at various colleges including Camberwell, Harrow, Brighton and Cambridge Anglia Ruskin.
Blaise accepts commissions and is always interested in collaborative or group projects, please see contact details.
